Itinerary

Day 120 Mar (Fri) - Amman Airport - Amman Hotel // Amman City Tour – Amman Hotel

● EK905, 00:40. Ahlan Wa Sahlan – Welcome to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan! Our
representative meets you with a signage before the immigration and assists you with the
procedure. After you collect the luggage and pass the customs, the representative matches
you with your driver.
● The ride to the hotel in Amman takes around 50 minutes. Check-in, rest.
● Today explore Amman, the bustling capital of Jordan. Though already mentioned in the
Bible as Rabbat Ammon, the city is modern with only a few ancient attractions we visit
today. Head downtown to explore the Citadel hill with remains from the Roman to the early
Islamic period and a small Archaeological Museum. Onto the opposite Roman Theatre from
the 2nd century with 6,000 seats. From here stroll along the vibrant Souq with its different
shops and stalls. Overnight in Amman.
Meals: Breakfast

Day 221 Mar (Sat) - Amman Hotel - Ajloun Castle - Jerash - Amman Hotel

● Morning time we head one and a half hours to the Islamic castle of Ajloun, in Arabic called
Qal’at Ar Rabad. In 1184 during the Crusades an Arab general and relative of Salah ad-Din
built here a fortress on higher grounds. Its purpose was to watch over the routes to the
Jordan Valley and the commercial routes to Syria, as well as to protect the iron mines
nearby. There is a small museum inside the castle and don’t miss the great view over the
surrounding countryside.
● We continue then to Jerash, the best example of a Roman provincial city in the whole
Middle East. The well preserved ruins had been hidden for centuries in sand, before the
excavations started in 1925. Wander along the spectacular Forum, paved and colonnaded
streets, the Nymphaeum, theatres and the Temple of Artemis. Return transfer to your hotel
in Amman.
Meals: Breakfast

Day 322 Mar (Sun) – Amman Hotel - Petra Visit - Wadi Rum Camp

● Drive 2.5 hours via the Desert Highway to Petra.
● Visit Petra, the spectacular rose rock city. Petra is the biggest attraction of Jordan and
was first established around the 6th century B.C. by the Nabatean Arabs. Meet your local
guide who will give you an understanding of Petra’s history within the next 2.5 hours. Start
with a walk to the canyon, the so-called Siq, at its end you see the most beautiful
monument, the Treasury. The building rises over 40 meters and is carved into sandstone
like most of Petra’s architecture. Continue via the Street of Facades, passing by the Theatre
to the Royal Tombs.
● Free time to explore Petra on your own and climb for example the 800 stairs to the
Monastery El Deir.
● From Petra the journey takes us 1.5 hours to Wadi Rum. Check into your campsite, where
dinner and the desert night with a hopefully starry sky awaits you.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
→ If you need a guide escorting clients from the main trail to the Monastery El Deir
(one way, guide does not return with clients) the guide supplement is 72 USD
total. This trail can also be done self-guided.

Day 423/24 Mar (Mon/Tue) - Wadi Rum 3 Hours Jeep Ride – Dead Sea Beach – Amman Hotel – Amman Airport

● Hop in a 4×4 and with your Bedouin driver uncover more of the vast desert. The rugged
landscape, the changing colours of sand and mountains, the serene atmosphere will make
you understand why Wadi Rum is one of the most impressive desert landscapes in the
world. You see canyons, red sand dunes, Nabataean rock inscriptions and a natural rock
bridge formed over centuries.
● 4 hours transfer to the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea. Free time at the beach with
the chance to float on salty waters.
● Rest at hotel in Amman until your pickup at 23:00, followed by a transfer to Amman
Airport for your departure on EK 906, 02:30 (24 March).
Meals: Breakfast.
